Inspiration for a Luxury Winter Wedding

This magical time of year lends itself perfectly to a wedding - as these sublime photos from this styled shoot at the Bishop’s Palace in Wells, Somerset will testify.

Chloe from Kennedy Events and Weddings created this resplendent red and teal festive delight which featured throughout the floral arrangements, elegant bride’s and groom’s outfits and accessories, and not forgetting the five-tiered wedding cake. The table was stylishly set with sparkling vintage glass, gold tableware and decorations a-plenty along with personalised calligraphy crackers.

I had the pleasure of designing and creating the golden calligraphy details for the candle-lit feasting table that included a framed keepsake calligraphy menu along with individual Christmas crackers that served as place cards.

The old-world building of the palace naturally lends itself to a winter wedding, with roaring fires that create a cosy and warming welcome for loved ones to gather and celebrate. There’s no denying that there’s a magic that floats around like snowflakes at this time of year - and if there’s no real snow, then the fake variety is always an option! It really added an enchanting addition to the whole experience.

If you’re planning a winter wedding then know that venues are typically quieter during the colder months and wedding vendors especially are. Calligraphers are certainly less wedding-focused so have more time to devote to you and your beautiful stationery and on-the-day details instead.
