Engraved cologne bottle Jo Malone

Personalised calligraphy engraving on fragrance bottles at Jo Malone London in the Bath store for the Modern Calligraphy Co.

Bespoke calligraphy will add a personal and heartfelt touch to your event making it a memorable and unique experience. Whether it’s the launch of a sparkling new product, a brand new store opening or a seasonal occasion such as Christmas, Valentines or Mother’s Day.

I work in store and face-to-face with clients and guests or can get creative behind the scenes, ideal for corporate gifting and PR events. Past clients include Jo Malone London and Molton Brown representing the Modern Calligraphy Co.

Calligraphy personalisation can be added to products and packaging as well as note cards and envelopes. Think perfume bottles, wine and spirit bottles, candles and cosmetics just for starters.

Choose from a range of calligraphy styles that can be written on a variety of surfaces including glass, metal, gift boxes and paper. I offer calligraphy by engraving, dip pen and ink or paint pens, all leaving an elegant lasting impression.

Further details can be found in the FAQs below.

FAQs

  • Event Calligraphy is when a calligrapher is present at an event, for example in a store, and will do live calligraphy for clients and guests. This could be personalising products and packaging with a name to mark the launch of a new product or writing personalised messages on gift cards during a seasonal shopping event such as Christmas and Father’s Day. Your clients will benefit from face-to-face interaction with the calligrapher as their purchases are personalised, adding a sense of theatre to their experience.

The calligraphy customisation can also be created for an event without the calligrapher being present, such as personalised gifts for guests in advance for a PR event. Think wine bottles, fragrances, gift boxes and gift tags.

  • Event calligraphy is for luxury brands who want to elevate their guest experience and offer them something lasting and memorable. It’s ideal for generating interest for a store opening or a product launch or celebrating seasonal shopping occasions.

  • You’ll send me initial enquiry by completing the above form with a brief outline of what you’re looking for. I’ll get back to you within 48 hours and arrange a time to go through everything in more detail. Once we’re both happy then contracts will be signed and a 50% deposit paid to secure a date. I’ll then create mock-ups based on the brief using some samples that you’ll send me. This includes one round of revisions to discuss and adjust the design if necessary. I can also create samples to use on display for in-store events in advance. On the day of your event, I’ll bring all the tools needed to create the calligraphy and work face-to-face with your clients and guests. Alternatively, the calligraphy for off-site events will be completed in my studio after I’ve been sent the products to work on. They’ll then be posted back to you. The remaining payment is due after all the event work is completed.

  • These items can generally be engraved on although I’d need to see photos of the products at the initial enquiry stage.

    • Perfume bottles

    • Spirit bottles

    • Non-pressurised wine bottles

    • Glass food bottles and jars

    • Glass candle jars

    • Metal candle lids

    • Cosmetic containers

    • Mirrors

Boxes, packaging, gift tags, cards, notelets and envelopes can be written on with pen and ink where engraving isn’t suitable.

Calligraphy engraving isn’t suitable for pressured bottles such as champagne, but calligraphy with paint pens can look just as impressive. Textured and frosted surfaces will also have limitations.
